Brisbane Personal Training: 30 Minute Challenge

Luke here down in Forest lake, Brisbane and today I have a kickbutt workout for ya to give a try.

It wiped the floor with my personal training clients the other night but it was their own damn fault!

I simply turned on the stopwatch and said...

"See how many sets you can do in 30 minutes"

That was it.

That was all that was needed for my kick ass clients to switch on that compeitive spirit and push themselves to the brink of exhuastion.

They seriously kicked ass!

Here is the workout.

Here's what they did.

3 x 15kg snatches
Walk with it 15m and back overhead
Repeat with the other arm
15m water swiss ball carry and back
25m farmers carry and back
20m bear crawl and back

That was one round.

From there they could rest as much as they wanted.

The objective was to get as many rounds as they could in the 30 minute time limit.

So if you are sick of doing sets and reps, turn on that stopwatch and see how much work you can get done in a certain time frame.

Again guys, Id love to get your feedback.

What did you think of this workout?

I'd love to know if you tried your own variation of this. Just shoot us a comment at the bottom of this page.

Catch ya later

Brisbane Personal Trainers Charity Strength Event!

Heeey!

Luke here and I got something really excited to share with you today.

It was my birthday the other day and as a little surprise my 2 awesome brothers organized a little strength event amongst a few of our friends.

It was to help us raise money for "Save-A-Dog Scheme". This non-profit organization takes animals in, pays their vet bills, and get this...

They keep them until they find them a home!

Damn I hate it when animals get put down just because no one wants them!

So my brothers and I thought this was a very worthy cause.

It was such an awesome day!

Out in the Satdy morning sun, having fun laughing and lifting heavy things with my mates! Couldn't think of anything more fun to do!

So anyway here is what went down.

Event #1: 30m backward and forward sled drag
Event #2: 3 x tyre flips for time
Event #3: 60m sprint
Event #4: 8 chin ups, 20 push ups, farmers carries, 40m sprint (For time)

Check out the craziness below...

Again thanks to everyone for coming down and giving their support, and congrats to the 4 winners who each won $20 JB Hi Fi gift vouchers (donated by my bro Geoff)
One last thing...
It was so awesome that I highly reccomend you get out of your comfort zone and do the same.
Pick something you love doing...
Could be strength
running
swimming
cycling
Whatever! Get a few mates together and put on a little event to raise some cash for a charity you are passionate about.
Lets face it if you have an internet connection, you are fit and healthy, never go hungry and have a roof over your head, you are pretty damn fortunate.
So why not get out there, conjure up a fun little event and give back.
And please I'd love to get your feedback. So feel free to shoot us a comment at the bottom of this page :)

Brisbane Personal Training: MMA Fat Burning Workout

Hey Luke here and today I want to show you are really cool workout I took a few of my personal training brothers through.

Its based on how MMA fighters train.

They go for 5 minute rounds

And because of the intense nature of grappling/fighting skipping on the spot for 5 minutes isn't just going to cut it!

So I filled the round with awkward lifting/explosive exercises.

Here's what they did...

Tyre Fights
Loading with the water swiss ball
Farmers Carries
Tyre Flips
Bear Crawls

They did each exercise for a minute straight, and without a rest went immediately to the next. After the 5th exercise they rested for a minute and repeated 3 more times for a total of 4 rounds.

Considering most UFC fights only go 3 rounds (only championships go for 5) my boys showed the warrior within them and really kicked some serious ass!

If you dig this kind of stuff be sure to enter your name and email address on the right hand side.
That way you can get an email from us as soon as we post another kick butt workout for ya!
Also when you join you will get instant access to over 60 minutes of no-nonsense fat loss and primal nutrition info as well as a kick butt 4 minute fat blaster.

Brisbane Personal Trainers Homemade Trick For Crazy Strength!

Heeeey!

Luke here, "Brisbane Personal Trainer" extraordinaire (If I don't mind saying so myself lol!)

Today I am excited to show you a really cool way to develop real world, applicable strength with something you probably have laying in the corner of your house collecting dust.

A swiss ball!

You see in my opinion, lifting odd objects like sandbags, and kegs are the best way to get CRAZY STRONG!

Problem is, have you ever tried making a sandbag?

Don't!

It gets messy really quick! I've tried numerous times and they just end up exploding.

So what I have done instead is filled my old swiss ball with water.

This works incredibly well! The bladder is really strong and durable, and the water "swooshing" around makes it quite difficult to lift.

Check out the vid of how I made it...

Here's what I did...

I squeezed out approximately 2/3-3/4 of the air inside. From there I filled half or more of it up with water. Remember you dont want it too full otherwise you won't be able to grab it and pick it up.

A tip on filling it up: Turn that hose on FULL BALL! When I started I was conscious of alot of water being wasted so I was just trickling the water in.

Problem was this took forever, and I was still losing water anyway.

As soon as I cranked up the pressure and put the nozzle over the hole, it filled up within 3-4 minutes.

Sure more water comes out, but it would probably be the same as if I sat there for 4 hours filling it the slow way.

So if you got a swiss ball at home taking up space, fill it up with some water and have some fun getting strong with your new toy :)

Happy lifting!

Brisbane Boot Camp: How We Do It At J.T.S

Hey my name is Luke Johnstone and I am a personal trainer here in Forest Lake, Brisbane.

As this is my very first post for the biz, I thought a great place to start would be with a training highlights package of our training and bootcamps.

That way, you can see how we do it down here, and see if you are in the right place.

Be warned. This training is intense. If you are looking for a place to do star jumps and jog then you are in the wrong place.

We strive for 3 things here at JTS...

  1. Mastering our own bodyweight

  2. Developing incredible real world strength throw lifting, dragging and pushing odd objects

  3. Improve stamina and explosivness with short sprints.

And all this is done in such a way that it MAXIMIZES fat loss. So not only do you get stronger, and more explosive, but you will have a much leaner, sexier body to go along with it.

So if you are still interested, crank the speakers up and check out the video below.

Be sure to check out the form to the right to claim over 60 minutes of kick ass nutrition info.

You will discover EXACTLY how I managed to get a six pack for the first time in my life...eating absolutely whatever I wanted, as well as primal nutrition tactics to boost your immune system through the roof!
